I am passionate about safeguarding children and protecting those vulnerable within our society. During my policing career I specialised in sexual offences and interviewing vulnerable adults and children. As a detective on the Child Abuse Investigation Team I completed advanced interview courses including interviewing sex offenders (CEOP). As an acting Detective Sergeant on the Safeguarding Referral Unit I managed incoming referrals around adults and children working closely with partner agencies. I qualified as a Police Trainer and was instrumental in creating a new Joint Interview (ABE) course and delivering safeguarding and sexual offences training to new police recruits, trainee detectives and social workers. Today I manage the Safeguarding Team and proud to be part of such an amazing company continuously striving to improve safeguarding practices. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider, NSPCC Train the Trainer and currently working toward my NSPCC Certificate of Competence for Trainers in Safeguarding and Child Protection. My spare time is taking up by my family, including my two dogs, and long walks in the beautiful county of Dorset.
